          Sight words, also known as high-frequency words, are common words that appear again and again in children's reading materials. Learning high-frequency words is essential for reading fluency. Kids learn to easily recognize 30 of these words in Bob Books Sight Words - First Grade. Each simple story introduces three new sight words commonly taught in first grade. Decodable words in this set are more complicated than in Bob Books Sight Words - Kindergarten, but consistent short vowels, repetition, and simple, supportive pictures keep the text easy to read, gently advancing young readers' skills.
